Antics

Introducing Antics, a range of stamps which are my own concept. These little characters have been with me since I was a small child and I used to draw them with word association. It has been amazing to see them brought to life in this fantastic new range from Rare Earth.

So, let me introduce "Antique". He is the Grandpa of the colony , a little bit old and wizened now but still very much the patriarch.

Rare Earth Beauties

Got some more inspiration from the talented design team, this time from Carol W.

Firstly some heat embossing through a mask and then rainbow inking directly over a coated brown Kraft card. Split panel with sentiment inserted. Lovely.

Next - gorgeous Coral embossing for the sentiment on a circle, quirkily cut with a straight edge on one side - love that. Masked and embossed background in two-tone.

Delicate lavender tones for this one. Starry mask, split panel background, matching corners, very pretty.

Here's something I haven't done for a while - Perfect Pearls powders onto the Clear Glass ink. Embossed leafy mask for the background. Simple Elegance.

The same technique here but using the mask to emboss a background and cutting out some of those teeny flowers - only Carol! Beautiful.

I think this is my favourite - oh maybe - oh not sure!
An 8" x 8" canvas panel with Graphic 45 Botanical Tea papers and embellishments. Lovely Home Decor piece.

Thanks to Carol for these and to all the team. You're brilliant. xx

New Ranges arrived from Pion Design

Hello, how are you?
Today I am very excited to bring you some new releases we have from Pion. These paper collections are absolutely gorgeous and definitely up there with some of my favourites and I know a lot of you are fans too.

Firstly we have Linnaeus Botanical Journal.
Here's a flavour of this beautiful range, with botanical images and birds and delicate pastel colour palette.

Secondly we have Where the Roses Grow, a collection inspired by an untamed flourishing rose garden.

And lastly, The Songbird's Secret, an enchanting collection with beautiful birds, florals and delicate patterns, gorgeous duck egg blues & greens and bits of music. Really lovely.

Not only these but also BRAND NEW colours in The Design Palette which co-ordinate perfectly with these new additions, so no scratting about trying to find something to match them up with.

As a special introductory offer, we will be packaging them up into collections and these will carry a 20% discount, while stocks last , which won't be very long judging by previous ranges we have had.
Hope you like them as much as we do.
Bye for now.

Every Adventure

Hi, how are you? It's a cold Sunday afternoon here in the North West so I decided to do a post featuring one of my Rare Earth samples from last week's shows.
This image was taken using a flash which shows the blue panel well but the rest is a bit on the bright side, so the second image is without and that helps to show the embellies a bit better.

The blue panel is a piece of acrylic sheet ( which I prefer rather than acetate ). Here's how I made it:
1.Drizzle Diamond Glaze over the back of the panel.
2. Add a few drops of your choice of 3 colours of dye inks and gently stipple them into the glaze, being careful not to over mix which will result in a muddy finish.
3. Sprinkle in some crystal glitter.
4. Scrunch up a piece of white tissue paper and lay down onto the glaze mixture. Press all the creases into the mix until saturated.
Leave to dry.
Once dry, stamp your sentiment using Rare Earth Pitch Black permanent dye ink. Allow to dry also.

Cut a piece of white card slightly wider and quite a bit longer than your inked panel. Punch the bottom edge with a decorative border punch. Wrap two lengths of ribbon around the bottom border and add button detail. The ribbon I used here is a fascinating Maya Road rubber ribbon with gorgeous little arrow icons printed on it - it's so cool! Now mount this onto some gorgeous water printed paper, or something nice and bright blue and then onto a 7x7 white card.

Here's a close up detail where you can see the lovely sparkly glittery bits.

Live, Laugh, Love

Here is another of my samples for Rare Earth. Using the butterflies mask, I have inked with Broken China Distress and a dusting brush and as you can see, this gives a really soft, delicate effect. Then I stamped the sentiment and the frame onto glossy white card using the Clear Glass. Let this dry for a couple of minutes and then ink over with Broken China and Chipped Sapphire using the dusting brushes again, until the design pops through. Cut the centre panel out using rectangle dies, mount onto white card and replace in the centre of the frame, using foam pads for a bit of lift. Mount these layers onto a pale blue card, add a pretty ribbon and a few gems and your done.

English Rose

This card was made using the beautiful Rare Earth Rose stamp and matching die set.

Ink the distressed dots frame from the Live, Laugh, Love set with Bundled Sage, Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserves Distress inks. Stamp onto white card and then cut as a frame using nesting square dies. Distress the edges of the frame with the same 3 colours.
Cut out and stamp the Rose using the Load n Fold stamping tool. Colour the rose with Victorian Velvet and Bundled Sage distress inks. Shape and build the rose to create a 3D flower with gel glue.
Mount on a spotty embossed panel and choose some complimentary papers to layer.
Finish off with ribbon knots, a punched border and tiny pearls.

Triple Lily

I inked a couple of pieces of white card with Forest Moss, Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed Distress inks, using the blending method.
Then I die cut all the pieces for the lilies from these backgrounds. This is a really quick way to achieve coloured flowers and some randomness to that colouring.
I used the Load n Fold to accurately stamp onto the die cut pieces.
Before assembling the flowers, ink any exposed cut edges of white card, or these edges will show.
Shape each flower on a soft mat and assemble with glue gel.
Cut 2 mats from dark brown card and cream ribbed card.
Assemble as shown.
Stamp the sentiment onto some cream card, using the Load n Fold for perfect positioning. Cut a chevron into the end. Mount onto dark brown and chevron the end of that too. Shape into a wave and attach to the bottom of the card.
Add a few random pearls to finish.
