Hi, Today I thought I'd share a mini book with you. This is another retreat project from our April '15 weekend. It is a Melissa Frances Envelopes & Tags book which has been decorated with papers from her Vintage Attic range and embellished with stickers, tags and ephemera from her products also.

I have listed some of the products used at the bottom of this post with links to where you can buy them in our webshop.

The front cover is decorated with linen, lace and a layered flower made using Spellbinders' Peony flower die. It has layers of vellum, text paper and burlap, with a lovely pearl medallion in the centre. There is also a tag embellished with a lovely champagne coloured pearl swirl, a tiny key and some silk ribbon.
I have used silk ribbon in a few places in this book and I love the way it drapes so well because it is so soft.
Everything has been distressed using Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

Each of the pages on the left have been simply covered with paper, ready for photographs.
The right hand page here has a strip of paper pleating attached
and a rosette made from loops of silk ribbon and twine.
There is also a banner created from some of the paper, layered with one of the stickers and a few gems added also.

On this page I added a die-cut flourish (from the newest release of Thinlets by Pete Hughes for Sizzix).
The border, butterfly and central panel are all from the sticker book and the tiny white frame is one of Melissa Frances' resin embellishments and
holds a tiny portrait from one of the stickers that has been cut down to fit.
( See close up detail below).

This next page has a torn strip of paper across it with two decorative tags behind, a ribbon rosette with a metal grommet, two more of the stickers and a snipped piece of another pearl flourish.

Finally there is a page which uses a postage stamp style sticker, a rectangular panel sticker and a banner sticker, to make up the central layers, topped with two hearts punched using a folk art style heart, a metal bird charm and a metal corner which was altered.
(See below).

The original colour of the metal corner was a little too bold so I coated it with Gesso and when it had dried, I inked it with Stazon Timber Brown ink from a re-inker bottle. This gave it a much softer brown colour which suited the page more.
All the tags inside the pockets have been covered with paper but left simple, ready for photos.
