Crafty Weekend End - bereft!!

I can't quite believe that our Crafty Weekend came & went. It was fab though, but felt too short. Thanks to all who came along and made it such a great success. Here's what happened!
Look at the state of my workroom just before we left for the venue!

Boxes, boxes, everywhere and not a one
 you're allowed to rummage in!
So off we went on Friday afternoon,  with the car loaded, to our amazing venue, Talking Point at Scouthead over Saddleworth. (Check out their website, it really is an amazing place). It didn't take us too long to get set up and then the weekenders began to arrive. We had a short welcome and then a delicious evening meal before embarking on our first project.
That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the weekend and we crafted, ate, crafted, ate, drank, ate chocolate, drank some more, crafted, until Sunday afternoon. What more could anyone want?
Here are a few peeks at the venue and us!

The room was lovely & light                 And this is the lounge where we had coffee
and spacious.                                       and our meals.
And here we all are, except for Gill who was hiding - how rude!

Craft Weekend

Oh, if only there were more hours in a day and days in a week! I could have done this so much sooner. Anyway, I wanted to let you know about my Crafty Weekend which is coming up very soon. From the 22nd to the 24th of October we will be closeted away in a beautiful venue and crafting from dawn till dusk. ( Well, not quite but you know what I mean). There is still time to join us if you can and we would love to see you. We will be creating some lovely projects including a Kaisercraft tabbed album which is fabby, gorgeousness abounds in the guise of paper, and a bit of Christmas will creep in with a stunning clear acrylic album. If that doesn't tempt you, well all I can say is - call yourself a paperstroker? If you would like more info, you can contact me through the shop. The Stamp Pad 01457 874646. Keeeeeep crafting.

Sunday, 3 October 2010

Well here I am on a wet Sunday afternoon. Hubbies gone to the football, Jenny (our daughter) is working, Callum (our son) is preparing for his gig tonight in Manchester and so I've come to chat for a little while. After an evening out with my brother & sister-in-law, everyone is a little bit sleepy today. So I thought I would bring some Christmas cheer and share a couple of designs with you. They are made using Cuttlebug embossing folders. Hope you like them.

Daydreamer Canvas

So, I thought I'd share this project we did recently at a workshop. It is an 8x8 canvas and features painting, inking, stamping with Tim Holtz and Inkadinkadoo stamps, embossing, metal work and distressing with Stazon inks. We had a great time creating them and every one was a little bit different when they were finished. I like this kind of scrapbooking - (off the page) - because it can be put on display and easily seen. My daughter isn't too happy about being exposed though but as I said to her, why wouldn't I want to scrap her pictures? (Love you Jen x).

Insomniac at large

I can't quite believe that when I finally manage to conquer my techno phobia and start to create a blog, that it is 4:40am. I have been meaning to do this for sooooo long, you wouldn't believe and finally, after much encouragement from my friends and after lying awake for hours thinking about it, here I am. Wooohoooo!!!
I think I have created about six blogs. all of which have disappeared into the ether. So, if you don't catch me on this one, there are more out there.
So, I am excited now to begin sharing my crafty life with you. I hope to be able to inspire some of you and be inspired by others and share ideas and creativity.
Here goes!
